Hypnosis and hypnotherapy

People have many misconceptions about hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

They are sometimes unsure of hypnosis. (Please see our FAQ for more info). We work in a clinical environment, utilising hypnosis as a tool to ensure that you receive the best possible therapy and you will be fully aware of what is happening.

Hypnosis is a completely natural state of mind that we all experience every day. Have you ever been so engrossed in a book or focussed on some work so you don't hear someone saying something to you? If so, then you were in a state of hypnosis. Have you ever driven a familiar route from A to B and when you get to B you can't remember what happened halfway between A and B? Then you were in a state of hypnosis.

You actually pass through the state of hypnosis on the way to and from sleep; everyone experiences states of hypnosis.

Put simply, when you are in a state of hypnosis you enter a state of mind ‘wherein the subconscious and conscious parts of the mind begin to work on the same concept at the same time without conflict.' ( T. Watts ).

When you are in a state of hypnosis your thoughts are clearer and you can access memories with greater ease. Your perception is heightened and your senses sharper, you perform tasks with greater efficiency, you are able to control your body and your mind with greater ease; hypnosis is not only a natural state of mind, it is also a very useful one. This state of mind has been used by many from the Greeks, to women wishing painless childbirth to modern day surgeons as alternatives to anaesthetics, to those wishing a calm wedding, to those aiming to reduce their golf handicap, improve their general sports performance or rid themselves of a lifelong phobia.

Hypnotherapy is quite simply the combination of psychotherapy and hypnosis to allow you to rapidly change to become a more efficient, confident and happier version of yourself.

We use many forms of therapy within our sessions, this is in order to produce the most efficient and effective form of therapy for you; we tailor make each session. This is true for all levels of therapy. From individual sessions to analytical therapy, hypnoanalysis, where we work together to find the root cause of your behaviours. People often claim ‘miracles' have occurred after therapy as they find they are more confident, happier, they have increased libido and are generally more in control of their lives.
